We love Halloween and look forward to dressing up every year. My husband I think might enjoy it a little more than my kids haha. He loves to scare people and dress to scare, not to be CUTE! Our kids are to little for him to fully participate like he would like, but I can see that in our future the kids and him will be making great efforts to scare the neighborhood and trick-or-treaters. One evening earlier this month I had him get in the attic to get down our bucket of Halloween costumes so we could go through it with the kids. He was happy to do so, but not without scaring us of course. He quietly put on an old Freddy Krueger costume he had from a prior year. He waited at the top of the stares for one of us to come get him. So of course the kids walked over to see what he was doing. Then guess what happened next?! yes lots of tears and screaming. Both babies ran over to me. I tried to tell them its Daddy and of course he proceeds to come down the stares like a creep. Maverick was soon ok with it because he realized it was indeed his daddy. Tenleigh was not ok with it. She was holding my neck for dear life. He took it off and tried loving on her but she was like absolutely NOT! The older kids laughed and wanted to join in on the fun of wearing the mask around to scare each other. This lasted about 10 minutes, then I had to take charge and put it up. Tenleigh was not going to like it no matter how much we tried to convince her. Haha maybe next year she will be ok with it... maybe not... we shall see!
I love to dress my kids to coordinate; however the older they get, the stronger their opinion is on what they want to be. Kudos to those mommas who can pull it off because it looks so darn cute!!! This year we had Teegan (11 years) the Roman Beauty, Taylor (9 years) the Police woman, Maverick (3 years) the Policeman, and Tenleigh (22 months) as Wonder woman.
This is our first Halloween in our new town and we loved it. It is such a great community with so much involvement with every holiday. The kids had a great time playing games, participating in contests, and of course eating WAY to much CANDY!!!
XOXO,
Shina <3
